STANLEY M. STEIN
Stanley M. Stein
“It has been my good fortune to practice in areas of law that are fascinating and challenging. During decades of litigating cases involving technology and business innovation, every case has been different and interesting. I am continually learning about technological advancements that I might not otherwise learn about and meeting clients who are super intelligent, entrepreneurial and adventuresome.”
In State and Federal trial and appellate courts around the country, including the US Supreme Court, Stan Stein has represented individuals, small and medium-sized companies, including high-technology start-ups, and very large companies, both to enforce and defend actions involving claims of patent and trademark infringement, trade secrets, non-compete and confidentiality agreements, and software license agreements. His cases have involved technologies in such diverse fields as banking, robotics, finite element analysis, drinking-water filtration, aeronautics, heart-lung machines and railway signaling. Stan has successfully enforced non-compete agreements for a $150-million national medical procedure company, a $4-billion oil exploration company and many others.
His clients have also included companies producing turnkey computer systems for
pharmacies and medical practices, distributors of high-quality polymer materials, and companies involved in oil and gas exploration and drilling, plant food and garden products, carpet cleaning machines and fluids, surgical medical devices, high-torque wrench equipment, and many others.
Stan received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1964, and his Juris Doctor from Duquesne University Law School in 1971, graduating with honors and as a member of the Law Review Board of Editors.
He is admitted to practice before all county and appellate courts of Pennsylvania, the United States District Courts for the Western and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania, the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States before which he has appeared and argued.
